Naturally, the last thing she wants is to involve the police, even though Sheriff Harper Porterfield is one fine-looking man--and interested. Yet Harper is persistent. As their relationship flares, the murderous activity heats up, and Barbara is torn between her independent resolve and her desire to trust the man she has come to love. VERDICT Poarch's easy writing style, realistic dialog, and ability to weave multiple characters into a complex, gently suspenseful plot that doesn't shortchange the romance will keep readers engaged, still curious about the missing golden bowl, and anxious for the next series title. Poarch (Safe in His Embrace) lives in Springfield, VA.
