帝国旧影:雕版画里的晚清中国（China Illustrated）

《帝国旧影（雕版画里的晚清中国）》体初版于1843年，即第一次鸦片战争结束的第二年。当时的英国上下都对这个刚刚跟自己打过一仗的古老帝国充满了好奇，于是费舍尔公司便请来艺术家托马斯·阿罗姆（ThomasAllom）和作家乔治·N．赖特（GeorgeN．Wright），策划出一本介绍中国的山水风光和习俗民情的画册。《帝国旧影（雕版画里的晚清中国）》出版后多次再版，并被翻译成欧洲多国语言出版。最难能可贵之处就是本书在摄影术尚未发明的时代，以表现力极为细腻的钢版雕版画的形式保存了晚清中国山水风貌和习俗民情的图卷。（The "China Illustrated" was initially published in 1843, the second year after the First Opium War ended.
