The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Selected translation masterwork) is one of his most popular children novels. The protagonist Tom Sawyer loses his mother in early childhood and is adopted his aunt. Clever and naughty Tom always plays truant and gets into troubles because he cannot bear his aunt's and school teacher's restraint. He accompanies Huckleberry Finn to the graveyard at night, where they witness a murder accidentally. Tom and Huckleberry run away to an uninhabited island with another friend because they fear that their experience may be found by the murderer. They become pirates on the island and their families thought they have been drowned. However, they finally appear on their own funeral. Tom is brave to stand out and points out the murderer after his moral dilemma eventually. After a short while, as Tom and Becky (the girl he loves) wander a cave for three days, they get extremely dehydrated and starve and face the death. ）
