(Classic of Poetry)

ebook

(As the China's first general collection of poems, the Classic of Poetry totally collects 305 poems created from the beginning of the Western Zhou Dynasty to the middle of the Spring and Autumn Period, also called 300 Poems. It is divided into 3 parts ("Airs", "Hymns", "Eulogies"). The "airs" refers to folk songs of regions; the "hymns" refers to ritual songs of the palace; the "eulogies" refers to sacrificial songs performed during worshipping at the ancestral temple by emperors and dukes of Zhou. This book is a popular literature aimed at popularizing the Classic of Poetry to readers. To ensure completeness, it contains all the 305 poems. Upon comparison, the most reliable notes are introduced to prevent readers from being puzzled by the disputes persistent for thousands of years. In addition, as another way for readers' comprehension, all the illustrations therein are the original print illustrations in the Notes of Classic of Poetry (Zhu Xi), highly worth appreciating. This book is the most ideal version for the sinology fans that want to learn and taste the Classic of Poetry but are not wedded to textual research. )
