The play is based on the events that had occurred in real life. It is a very powerful farce. The play draws its inspiration and storyline from the events surrounding Italian railroad workers and anarchist Giuseppe Pinelli. This anarchist was thrown out of the window of the fourth floor of a Milan Police station. He died on the spot.
