The story happened in 1864. The story of the novel describes that the owner of the pleasure-boat "Duncan", Gerry Bernard Van organized a travel team and personally went out to complete the cause, upon obtaining the clue about Captain Grant, a Scotch navigator, who was lost in the wreck two years ago. Together with his wife Helen and the two children of Captain Grant, he went to sea for looking for Captain Grant, by "Duncan". All on the way, with incomparable will and courage, they overcame numerous difficulties and dangers and circled the earth once and eventually found Captain Grant on the deserted island of the Pacific Ocean. )
