Hollywood is full of dirty secrets, but Carter refuses to be Levi's.

Retired action star Levi Pritchard has made a quiet life for himself in the sleepy logging town of Bluewater Bay, Washington. But then Hollywood comes to film the wildly popular television series Wolf's Landing, and Bluewater Bay isn't so sleepy anymore. His retirement doesn't stick, either, because he's offered a part on the show — exactly the kind of complex role he'd always wanted, one that would prove him more than a glorified stuntman. The only catch? He has to stay in the closet — no matter how attractive he finds his co-star.

Carter Samuels is the critically-acclaimed male lead on Wolf's Landing. And now, the man who inspired him to take up acting — and made him realize he's gay — is joining the cast, and sparks fly between them instantly. But Carter is out and proud and determined to stay true to himself.

Remaining just friends is the only thing to do, as both the studio and Levi's disapproving, dysfunctional family keep reminding them. Except their friendship deepens by the day, tempting them with what they can't have but both desperately need.

Witt (General Misconduct) delivers an absorbing contemporary romance about two actors who struggle with combining work and love. Action star Levi Pritchard left Hollywood for remote Washington State to live quietly alone and direct smalltown theater. His plans are
derailed when an old friend, now the
director of the hot TV series Wolf’s Landing, offers Levi the role he’s waited his entire career for—one that would
allow the world to see him as more than a one-dimensional macho man. Carter Samuels is the star of Wolf’s Landing, and he’s had a crush on Levi for years. As filming continues, the two men grow closer and closer. But while Carter is openly gay, Levi is not, and Carter refuses to be any man’s dirty little secret. When the studio gives Levi an ultimatum—stay closeted or lose his dream role—he must choose between his career and his lover. Witt’s powerful story will have readers riveted.

After leaving Hollywood for sleepy Bluewater Bay, Washington, Levi Pritchard is handed a golden opportunity when he's asked to be a part of the hottest show on TV, Wolf's Landing. This will give him the chance to finally break out of his action-hero pigeonhole and to be near Carter Samuels, the young, gorgeous, out-and-proud star of the show, on whom firmly in-the-closet Levi has a wicked crush. Sparks fly, but the studio is holding Levi to his I'm not gay stance. Their relationship develops slowly; they bond over indie movies and fishing. Levi's indecision at coming out almost ruins their chances for a relationship. It is only after Levi almost loses Carter that he finally comes to terms with who he is and whom he wants to be with. Watching Carter and Levi develop as a couple is great fun. They share an affection for Levi's mammoth cats, tease each other, and crack juvenile jokes. Watching them fall in love is, as their enthusiastic director Anna says, HAWT. (Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2014, American Library Association.)
