Each of them had feast and told a story every day, with 100 stories in 10 days. So it is named The Decameron. Many stories are based on historical events and medieval legends. The author Giovanni Boccaccio speaks highly of the life and thinks love is the source of wisdom and good sentiment. He denounces the asceticism and mocks the corruption of feudal aristocracy and the dissolute shameless of the Catholic Church. Adopting frame structure, the author integrates 100 stories to make the book an integrated success. The book has refined sense of humor and delicate description of people and things. )
