This program includes an author's note read by Stacey Abrams.
From popular former gubernatorial candidate, lawyer, and New York Times bestselling author Stacey Abrams comes an audiobook reissue of her romantic suspense novel, Never Tell, written under the name Selena Montgomery.

Criminal psychologist Dr. Erin Abbott wants nothing more than to live a quiet life. That means no danger, no intrigue-and absolutely no romance. But when Erin suspects a serial killer is roaming New Orleans, her investigation throws her straight into the arms of the only man who can help her.
Journalist Gabriel Moss is hot to find his next huge story-and he knows Erin is on to something big. From the moment they meet, Gabriel senses that Erin is hiding something. One thing is certain: Erin's boxy suits and sensible shoes hide a delicate beauty waiting to emerge...and Gabriel is just the man to reveal the woman inside.
As they join forces to find the killer, Gabriel slowly seduces Erin with his soft kisses. But Erin knows their love can never be. For she is hiding a terrible secret—and if Gabriel reveals the truth, Erin's life will be shattered forever...

After an opening author's note read by politician and voting rights activist, Stacey Abrams (writing here as Selena Montgomery), this audiobook keeps you listening and guessing. Dr. Erin Abbott is a professor and criminal psychologist who is hiding a significant secret from her past. Gabriel Moss is an investigative journalist with a knack for uncovering hot stories. When a series of murders in New Orleans gets closer to upending Erin's privacy, they find themselves working together to find a killer. Narrator January Lavoy perfectly captures Erin's fear, determination, and intelligence and Gabriel's resolve to expose the truth. As things heat up between the two, LaVoy does a perfect job of voicing believable chemistry while also building suspense relating to the perpetrators of the current murders and the connections to Erin's hidden past. Dr. Erin Abbott is a criminal psychologist with a dark past. She has changed her name, faked her credentials, and moved to New Orleans to start a new life. When a serial killer challenges Erin to "find me," all the clues lead back to her previous life and the secret she left behind. Relentless reporter Gabriel Moss latches onto the story and persistently follows a reluctant Erin in her search for the killer. As the pair digs deeper into the mystery, they fall for each other. They also hatch a plot to smoke out the killer, which puts Erin's life in peril. The story wobbles between true romance and killer thriller. While the plot and characters have some weak spots, the story has interesting twists and turns. Narrator January LaVoy provides a wide variety of voices, accents, and emotions. Abrams (who originally published this book in 2004, writing as Selena Montgomery) reads an author's note. VERDICT Recommended for fans of Abrams, romance, and stories set in New Orleans.--Joanna M.
